The right hair for your face shape makes the world of difference. As you can see from My images I'm lucky enough to be able to wear my hair short or long, straight or curly.
Generally bear in mind that hair that finishes above or at your jaw line can potentially draw attention to an area you may prefer to soften. If the cut is right it can disguise a more masculine jaw line, but this is a little more hit & miss than taking hair a little longer and fuller to veil the line.
If you want a very natural finish, look for a wig in the same hair colour as your own, or perhaps a shade lighter. Going blonde or a strong red is a fun option but pay attention to your skin colour to see if you can pull it off (to try before you buy, enlist a friend and get them to 'dare' you to try a particular colour wig on when out and about!). A good quality synthetic wig need not cost the earth either. I wear wigs to play with My image and can personally recommend Vogue and Fumi wigs on ebay. Their synthetic range is affordable and the quality exceptional for the price at around £25. If you have a full head of hair I recommend buying or making a wig cap to keep your own hair under control and beneath your wig. Keep the hairnet and bag that the wig comes in to store it after use to help maintain its condition.
