Common sense?

Common sense is often hard to find around kink. Part of the 'problem' is caused by how repressed many must keep this part of their personality. Once faced with the prospect of exploring this facet, common sense can often fly out of the window.

Common sense things to do include making yourself a kink specific email address. Take a look at Yahoo (very useful mailbox aliases - be aware that others may utilise this feature too!) or Google. Once you've done this, pop over to some good, solid sites like Informed Consent, FetLife and CollarMe and do some reading. They are free to join, contain good reference sections, and have lively discussion boards that can teach you a lot. Remember, everyone is entitled to their point of view, and that everyone finds different things exciting and alluring. Being involved in BDSM means acting like an adult and accepting responsibility for the things you do and don't elect to expose yourself to.

If you're not sure what to say on any profiles you make using your lovely new email address, don't be shy to let people know that you are new to things. Kinksters are generally a warm and friendly bunch who understand that everyone has to start somewhere. We don't tend to bite unless we know you well and you ask very, very nicely!
Twistedly,
Mistress x
