In service

Those of You who intend to keep a service submissive will find that life is considerably simpler if You have a clear notion of what You expect. Very often the relationship can break down due to poor communication or incoherent expectations, resulting in confusion and disappointment in both parties.

Ideally a service submissive will learn how to fit around household schedules and requirements in order to seamlessly enhance the lives of everyone (theirs included!). However, in order to allow this to happen the Mistress or Master of the House needs to be clear in what They desire and Their expectations. All so well and good until you come to create Your own list or Household Manual, when suddenly a list of chores that need doing can become vacant possession! To this end I have been researching traditional housekeeper and ladies maid/valet roles to help inspire My own direction. One of the sweetest and most useful sites I have found is that of Taryn Cox; not only are the sage words of Mrs Beeton to be found here, but all manner of useful instructions such as napkin folding (although I have a suspicion that I'll end up with "bunny-ear" thongs as the result of over enthusiasm! LOL!). A more contemporary description of these roles can be found at Marshall Harber, who continue to supply this type of staff as does the Katie Facey Agency. These two sites reveal that little has altered in regards to the roles over the years, with spa treatments (manicure, pedicure etc) being the most obvious alteration to the alchemy required by Victorian or Edwardian staff.

Inspiration indeed! Hmmmm...I can see this turning into a training manual rather than a 'reminder list' *chuckle*
Twistedly,
Mistress x
